A MAN who gave police officers the slip as they came to arrest him has appeared in court.
Keiron Banks, of Marina Village, Runcorn, was wanted by police in relation to a number of allegations against a woman in Northwich.
However, when they came to arrest him on June 30, the 30-year-old fled the scene and remained on the run from police for two weeks.
He was eventually located by officers hiding in the loft of a house in Lostock Gralam and has been in custody ever since.
Having made an appearance at Warrington Magistrates Court on July 15, where he denied a string of offences, including the most serious of those – escaping from lawful custody.
Banks was back in the dock on Monday, August 15 - but this time at Chester Crown Court – where he pleaded guilty to the same charge.
He also admitted driving a VW Golf on Broomsfield Lane in Barnton despite being banned from the road and having no insurance.
However, he denied a single charge of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour while in a relationship between February 1 and June 30 this year.
Banks was remanded in custody and will next appear at the same court the week commencing January 2, 2023 to face a trial, which is expected to last three days.
Several other charges did not appear on the indictment.
