THIS coming weekend in Northwich promises to be filled with plenty of fun and activities for all the family.

The town is becoming renowned as the home of a multitude of events – many of which are free – and the theme continues on Saturday (August 13).

An Adventure Experience Day will bring a piece of the great outdoors to the centre of town, with amazing activities including rock climbing on Apple Market Place, laser clay shooting on Barons Quay Wildflower Meadow and a unique and immersive caving experience outside Northwich Library. With all three activities free for people to enjoy.

Organised by Northwich BID, many of the town’s businesses are also getting involved, with Penny and Emma Hitch, who run Vinnies excited by what’s in store.

The café overlooks the town’s Apple Market Place, which will be home to a climbing wall.

“We can’t wait to have such an exciting feature on the open space,” the pair said.

“The whole team fully intends to be the first ones on the wall before we open on Saturday.

“But don’t worry, we’ll be up and down in record time, ready to serve you all with our decadent milkshakes and delicious bakes.

“So why not come on down and make use of this great free event.”

It’s not only Vinnies looking to get involved, with Beck Strange from Chapel Gift Company adding: “We’re definitely going to have a go at the caving experience, I’ve been told it’s not just for children, so I’ll be the first in the queue.

“Don’t forget to pop into our own little cave by climbing the stairs to our new home furnishings section in the shop.”

Adam Gerrard, Northwich BID Project Manager noted that: “The adventurous activities planned for this weekend are funded by our town centre businesses and I would like to personally ask the people of Northwich to come out, take part, have fun and while doing so, support your town centre.”

Saturday also sees the town host its monthly Artisan Market (10am-4pm), with the usual exceptional range of produce and handcrafted items, which ensure a unique and dynamic community shopping experience.

There is more free fun with a Football Skills Star event at River Park Walk in Barons Quay (11am-3pm) featuring plenty of demos and tricks.

And finally, for all you lovers of punk – The Plaza will be the only place to be, with the iconic Snuff headlining a total of ten acts. Tickets for this event are £15 and available at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/the-plaza-northwich/
