THE hugely popular Krazy Races event will return to Northwich next year, it has been confirmed.

More than 15,000 people lined the streets back in June as a variety of soap box cars raced down the town’s makeshift racetrack.

The free to attend event, created and managed by Sarah Belcher Events LTD, was brought to Town by Northwich Town Council after the events inaugural Shrewsbury Krazy Races won Best New Event in the U.K back in 2019.

In the two months since Northwich Krazy Races, calls have grown for the event to be returned to Northwich.

Behind the scenes, Northwich Town Council has been working extremely hard to make this happen and despite massive competition from other locations across the country, today Northwich Council and Sarah Belcher Events are delighted to confirm that an agreement has been made and Northwich Krazy Races will return to Town on Sunday, July 16 2023.

The event will take the same route as this year, with carts zooming down Castle Hill with an event village and viewing within Verdin Park. Today, team spaces have opened and after the success of this year's event, organisers are encouraging teams to get their entries in as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Organisers are looking for a good mix of between 20-40 teams of both businesses, charities and friends and families to compete.

Sarah Belcher, Founder of Krazy Races said: “We are over the moon to be coming back to Northwich next year.

“We absolutely loved this year's event and two months later we are still buzzing about the overwhelming positive feedback.

“We hope that teams and businesses really get behind this event now they know what it’s all about and join in the fun.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Shaw and the team at Northwich Town Council for continuing to back this event, giving thousands of locals a great free day to remember.”

Northwich Town Mayor Cllr Graham Emmett said: “We always had full confidence in this event after seeing the incredible reviews from Shrewsbury, but this year's Northwich event surpassed our high expectations and the crowds were phenomenal.

Bringing Sarah Belcher Events and the Krazy Races team back is a no-brainer for us and we hope businesses come forward to help us make the event an even bigger success than this year.”

Applications open today to enter a team and you can do that via The Krazy Races website - krazyraces.co.uk.
