A CHARITY event featuring Happy Mondays dancer Bez has been moved to a new date and venue in Northwich.

Originally set to take place on Friday (August 12) at the town’s Memorial Court, organisers of the night in aid of local charity Tiny Steps, decided to move it to later in the year.

The event had been billed as ‘Rave On’ but the party will now move to the iconic Plaza and get revellers on their dancing feet on Saturday, December 17.

As well as the legendary Bez - ‘This is the Plaza’ will also feature Tiny Steps regular and patron Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets) and legendary rave scene DJ and producer ‘A Guy Called Gerald’.

Organiser Scott Burstow explained the decision to move the party, saying it was a mixture of slower ticket sales on a night when Heaven 17 look set to take the town back to the 1980’s.

“This night was initially planned in August and in hindsight and being honest, it was probably always going to be difficult for people to attend,” he said.

“We have such an amazing following of loyal people who attend so many events and want to help Tiny Steps and even speaking to friends, it was clear that holiday commitments hampered and didn’t get us the footfall we needed to make the night a success.

“It was a difficult decision to move the night but the correct one."

“Obviously these nights are all about raising funds and awareness for Tiny steps, putting Northwich on the map and giving local people a good night out and we couldn’t guarantee any of this.

“I genuinely hope the new date on the December 17 appeals to people to come.

“They are always amazingly supported and brilliant nights out plus I’m extremely biased but what a line up.”

Viral keyboard sensation Davos will also feature on the bill as the town gets set for a memorable build up to Christmas.
