OFFICERS are appealing for information following a serious collision in Weaverham which has left a woman with life-threatening injuries.

At around 4.40pm yesterday, Wednesday, August 3, police were called to the A49 Warrington Road after a crash involving a Toyota Aygo, a Ford Fiesta and a Peugeot 107.

The driver of the Toyota Aygo, a 38-year-old woman, was taken by air ambulance to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the Ford Fiesta, a 53-year-old woman, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Her condition is not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Sergeant Andy Dennison said: "The A49 would have been busy at the time of the accident, and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicles before or during the accident to come forward.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage from around the time of the incident to assist with our investigation.

"The same goes to anyone who may have any relevant information and has not yet spoken to police."
