OAKWOOD Marina is definitely the place to be if you want a pizza the action and to taste some award-winning food.
Hot on the heels of the café winning Best Breakfast in Northwich, Oakwood Smoke and Dough has just taken the Best Pizza 2022 crown.
Each week, we focus on different categories to find the best that Northwich, Knutsford, Winsford and Middlewich have to offer with 12 awards for hair, nails, beauty, fitness and independent shop being given out as well as fish and chips, pies, pubs, breakfast, afternoon tea and roast dinner already decided.
Voting is currently taking place in the latest round of the competition with the award for Best Beer Garden up for grabs with a closing date of midnight on Monday.
Next up was the Italian classic pizza and you voted Oakwood Smoke and Dough your number one.
The business only opened in May from the back of a small van at Oakwood Marina but owner Gemma Woods clearly has the recipe for success.
The popular pizza place has seven pizzas on the menu as well as four or five other specials each day.
The food is all made fresh daily using the best ingredients, which gets a big thumbs up from happy customers.
One nomination said: “Oakwood Smoke and Dough make the best Neapolitan pizzas – all fresh with quality ingredients and served in a perfect setting.”
The funghi pizza – roasted onions, field mushrooms, tomato and mozzarella - and Diavolo pizza – chorizo, salami, jalapenos, tomato and mozzerella - are Gemma’s best sellers.
Co-worker Rob said: “A lot of love goes into making these pizzas and we only use the best quality ingredients.
“Everything is homemade and created fresh each day.
“Pizza is such a crowd pleaser and it’s affordable – who doesn’t love the smell of pizza cooking?
“To be nominated for this award and up against such fantastic pizza places is great but to actually win is amazing.
