DRINK and drug drivers, an off-road biker who fled police and a man who crashed after dangerous driving on a motorway are among the individuals banned from Cheshire's roads this week.

A TEENAGER who was caught driving while twice over the alcohol limit has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Daniel Andrews, of Shakespeare Close in Northwich, appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday after he was caught drink driving in Chester.

On June 21, the 19-year-old was driving a Vauxhall Corsa along on St Martin’s Way near Chester city centre.

He gave a reading of 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the prescribed limit of 35 microgrammes.

A NORTHWICH teenager has been banned from the roads after being caught over the drink-drive limit.

Daniel Beckingham, of Eaton Lane, Davenham, had been driving in a Vauxhall Astra along Chester Way when he was stopped on June 18.

A breath test revealed the 19-year-old had 52 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 litres of his breath. The legal limit is 35.

Beckingham pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Chester Magistrates' Court on July 8.

A MOTORIST who hit a car at 70mph on the motorway and fled the scene was more than three times the drink-drive limit.

Paul Michael Taylor, 40, of Wharton Road, Winsford, pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates Court to dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident and drink-driving.

Prosecuting on Tuesday, July 12, Alan Currums said it was at about 10pm on June 19 when a witness, travelling along the M53 motorway towards Chester, in the Ellesmere Port area, became aware of a VW Polo joining the motorway.

The case was adjourned until August 9. Taylor was handed unconditional bail and an interim driving ban.

Northwich Guardian:

A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from the roads and must abstain from alcohol after threatening two men in the street.

Brent Dronfield, of Cotswold Way, Winsford, was caught more than twice the legal limit while driving along St Georges Road on May 21 earlier this year.

A breath test revealed he had 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

And on the same day, the 52-year-old used threatening, abusive or insulting words against two men, with intent to cause them to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used.

AN OFF-ROAD biker has avoided jailed after riding along a canal towpath and fleeing police.

Officers were called to the scene in Middlewich at around 4.40pm on Saturday following reports of a man on an off-road bike on the canal towpath.

Benjamin Hargreaves was located by the patrols, but sped off before he could be dealt with.

Police continued to search the area and found the 33-year-old again at around 7.30pm when he was arrested and his bike seized.

A DRIVER who was more than twice over the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road.

Dominic Shivers, of Knutsford Road, Alderley Edge, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Stockport Magistrates Court on July 11.

The 50-year-old failed a blood test on February 2, this year, after he had been driving a Skoda in Stockport.

The test recorded 182 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, the court heard.

Northwich Guardian:

A MAN has been banned from the road after being almost three times over the legal drug drive limit.

Andrew Cook, of Foden Walk, Wilmslow, was convicted of drug driving at Manchester Magistrates Court on July 8.

The 34-year-old was driving a blue Audi A3 on Manchester Road in Wilmslow on October 5, 2021, when he was stopped by police.

A subsequent blood test recorded 136 micrograms of benzoylecgonine, an ingredient of cocaine, per litre in his blood.

A MAN has been banned from the road for three years after being five times over the legal drug drive limit.

Joseph Duffy, of Old Road, Wilmslow, pleaded guilty to drug driving at Stockport Magistrates Court on July 11.

The 39-year-old was driving a Volkswagen Golf in Stockport on January 27, this year, when he was stopped by the police.

A subsequent blood test recorded 10ug/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, an ingredient of cannabis, in his blood.
