WEAVERHAM Rose Fete has finally crowned its 2022 Rose Queen after a two-year wait due to the pandemic.

Kiera-May Mctasney was the latest to receive the special title as the Rose Fete returned to Weaverham for the first time since 2019.

Saturday saw countless residents come together for the celebrations, all thanks to the organisers and their loyal helpers.

It was officially opened by cllr Paul Williams, and Kiera-May eventually got her crown after originally being chosen as the queen for 2020.

The event is steeped in history, with Betty Dudley being crowned the first Rose Queen in 1927.
