A WOMAN who stole almost £150 worth of vodka from Tesco stores in Northwich has been handed a curfew.

Adele Fowles, of Victoria House in Church Road, appeared in Chester Magistrates' Court on Monday after shoplifting various bottles of vodka from different Tesco stores in the town.

Magistrates heard how on May 16, the 39-year-old entered Tesco Extra and stole vodka to the value of £84.

Just a few days later, on May 20, Fowles visited Tesco Express and stole three bottles of vodka, worth £63.

The court was also told she attempted to steal six bottles of whiskey from an Asda store the following month, on June 3.

Fowles was handed a 12-week curfew, meaning she must remain at her address between the hours of 7pm and 7am daily.

She must also pay £147 in compensation, a £95 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.

Her guilty plea was taken into account.

Magistrates also sentenced her for failing to comply with supervision requirements following her release from prison.

For this offence, Fowles was fined a further £80 – meaning she owes a total of £407 to the courts.
