IT might have started out as an Italian treat, but pizzas have made their mark and are enjoyed in almost every country around the world.

The flat dough base topped with tomatoes and cheese is a firm favourite with all nationalities and generations as it’s a quick and easy meal that satisfies your hunger pangs.

Traditional pizza lovers will argue that there’s nothing better than a Margherita – just mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, olive oil and basil – but what else would you add to make the perfect pizza?

Is a meat feast your go to pizza or do you prefer a veggie supreme?

Have you tried swapping the tomato sauce out for barbecue sauce?

Does pineapple really belong on a pizza?

Northwich Guardian: What toppings do you add to your pizza? What toppings do you add to your pizza?

We have started our next Best of search to find Northwich’s finest pizza and we want to know where in the town serves the perfect slice, whether it’s brought to your table or a quick takeaway option eaten on the go.

In our Best of 2022 campaign, we’ve given out ten awards in the region for hair, nails, beauty and fitness as well as pies, pubs, fish and chips, breakfast, afternoon tea and independent shop.

Lissie Wright Hair, The Beauty Spot and Sharon Power together with JD’s Café, The Lion, Winsford Fryer, Oakwood Marina, Poppy Rose Vintage Tearoom and The Style Hut have all been crowned winners in their respective categories.

Voting is currently taking place to find the best roast dinner in the region with the closing date midnight on Monday.

This week, we want to celebrate pizzas – dine in or takeaway - and the overall winner will be decided by you, our readers.

HOW IT WORKS:

Each Friday morning we will reveal new categories via our social media pages and ask you who is the best. Nominations close each Monday morning at 12pm.

Then each Thursday we will publish a shortlist of finalists with voting officially opening.

You will be able to vote in one of three ways:

- By commenting under the relevant post on our Knutsford Guardian, Northwich Guardian and Winsford and Middlewich Guardian Facebook pages = 1 vote

- By entering via the online article on our Knutsford Guardian, Northwich Guardian and Winsford and Middlewich Guardian websites = 2 votes

- By entering via our Knutsford Guardian, Northwich Guardian and Winsford and Middlewich Guardian newspapers = 5 votes

The following Wednesday evening we will announce the winner of that category on social media.

They will then be entered into the running for our overall Simply The Best award at the end of the competition.

Usual Newsquest competition rules apply.
