A SEXUAL predator, a vandal teen and a drug dealer are among the Mid Cheshire defendants to appear in court over the past week.

A WINSFORD man who shouted 'just die' as he attempted to suffocate his own mother with a pillow has been jailed.

Steven James Hunt, of Catalan Close, was a live-in carer for his 63-year-old mother at the time of the attack on December 5 last year.

Chester Crown Court heard how the 42-year-old had been out drinking before he arrived back home at around 11.30pm.

He subjected her to taunts about her ill-health, telling her she had given up and to 'go back' to her already deceased parents, before he covered her face and mouth with a pillow.

A sexual predator from Winsford has finally been brought to justice for his despicable assaults on three young girls more than 50 years ago.

Christopher Rollings, of Wharton Road, was handed 21 years in prison after ‘taking the childhood’ away from his victims by sexually assaulting them.

The 76-year-old appeared in Chester Crown Court on Thursday where he was branded an ‘arrogant liar’.

Between 1968 and 1983, Rollings sexually assaulted three young girls and betrayed their trust when he and his victims were living in the Macclesfield area.

A man from Middlewich who sexually assaulted a disabled woman on a train has been hauled back to court after breaching requirements of the sex offenders register.

David Baden Kemp, of Manor Fields, failed to comply with notification requirements which make it necessary for him, by law, to sign the register.

The 60-year-old appeared in Crewe Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 7, to be sentenced for the offence.

He was originally jailed for six months on September 7, 2016, after sexually assaulting a disabled woman on a train near Sandbach.

A WINSFORD man has been jailed after attacking three schoolchildren at Hartford train station as they made their way home.

Nicky Fallows, of Greenfields, was so drunk at the time, he can barely remember what he did.

Appearing at Warrington Magistrates Court on Friday, June 10, the 37-year-old was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison.

As well as hitting one of the children with a school tie, he pulled another boy’s hair and told another he was gay, in the worrying incident on September 7 last year.

A driver from Winsford has been banned from the roads for fleeing the scene of collision on Boxing Day last year which left a man seriously injured.

Connor O’Hare, of Montgomery Way, was driving a Mercedes AMG 35 when he was involved in a crash with a Ford Focus on A559 Chester Road, Hartford, on December 26, 2021.

A 43-year-old local man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital following the crash.

Twenty-five-year-old O'Hare did not supply his name and address and failed to report the accident at a police station within 24 hours.

A 22-year-old woman from Middlewich must pay more than £500 after admitting driving without due care and attention.

Kate Emma Lockett was driving a Mini along the A54 in Winsford on September 16, 2021, during the incident.

Lockett, of Nantwich Road in Middlewich, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on June 6 to be sentenced.

A 13-year-old from Northwich has been ordered to repay the community after destroying Christmas tree lights and bedding plants in the town.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 1, after pleading guilty to two counts of criminal damage.

He was also charged with burglary at Northwich’s Moss Lane Leisure Complex.

A man from Northwich will be sentenced next month after admitting multiple drug dealing offences in the town.

Mark Keelan, of Romanes Street, had been charged with two counts of possession with the intent to supply both heroin and cocaine.

The 48-year-old was arrested by police on April 28 when they executed a warrant on Manchester Road.

A man has been hit with a £800 court penalty for refusing to give police the name of a driver suspected of committing an offence.

Majid Cheema, of Alum Court, Holmes Chapel, was found guilty of the offence, in his absence, at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court on May 26.

A police officer had requested the name of a driver in Bradford on February 8, this year.

A man has been given a restraining order and been banned from a pub after being found guilty of attacking a woman.

Simon Revington, of Dean Row Road, Wilmslow, was also given a community order at Stockport Magistrates Court on June 1.

The 52-year-old had pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman by beating on August 23 last year at a court hearing on January 19.

But the defendant was found guilty on April 12 and must comply with a programme of rehabilitation for 33 days.
