MOTORISTS using the M6 are being warned of long queues this afternoon, Tuesday.

This is due to an accident on the northbound carriageway at Thelwall Viaduct.

One lane is currently closed due to the accident and queueing traffic is being reported.

It occurred between junction 20 for the M56 at Lymm Interchange and junction 21 for the A57 Manchester Road at Woolston.

Congestion stretches back to junction 19 for Northwich and Knutsford at Tabley.

Lane one of four remains closed, with all traffic being held earlier.
