A WEAVERHAM man has denied he sexually assaulted two little girls, as a trial into historic allegations began at Chester Crown Court.

Mark Anthony Foster, of Forster Avenue, stands accused of two counts of indecent assault and five of indecency with a child.

The 60-year-old has been accused by four complainants, with the offences alleged to have taken place between 1986 and 1993.

Opening the case, prosecuting barrister Gareth Roberts told the jury how the first offence was said to have taken place in Foster’s garden shed.

It is alleged that between March 3, 1986, and March 2, 1989, Foster placed the hand of a girl, aged between nine and 11, on his penis.

Giving evidence to the jury, the woman, who is now in her 40s said how she would often go to play in Foster’s garden with his young daughter.

“It was a magical garden,” she said.

“Like nothing I’d ever seen before in my life.

“He was really kind at first, but I just remember the day he dragged me into that shed.

“I didn’t think anything sinister was going to happen. It just makes me sick.

“I can’t believe that he could do this to a child.”

Mr Roberts explained how another girl alleges she was inappropriately touched by Foster in a sandpit in his back garden. She had been aged between eight and 10 at the time.

She also accuses Foster of masturbating in her presence on two other occasions while two other girls allege he did the same thing to them.

“One of the complainants lived in a house opposite Foster,” Mr Roberts said.

“She said how she saw him masturbating in the window of his bedroom while wearing women’s underwear.

“Her and friends used to think at the time it was gross but were not aware of the gravity.

“After he was arrested, he said he had never met the first victim and the other complainants had got their heads together to make stuff up about him.

“He’s a liar and the idea four different women made up stories about him is ludicrous.

“They are simply telling the truth.”

The trial is expected to last for at least a week.
