POLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a two-car crash on the A556.

Emergency services were called to the scene outside the Smoker pub on Chester Road in Plumley after a collision between a black Nissan Qashqai and a black Audi A1 shortly before 9.45am yesterday (June 4).

The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and a man, who had been driving the Audi, was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary. His injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.

An investigation into the crash was launched and the Qashqai driver was spoken to at the scene.

No arrests have yet been made but officers are appealing for any witnesses, particularly those who stopped at the scene but left before the police arrived, to come forward.
