A 30-year-old man from Northwich is to be sentenced after he was found with hundreds of indecent images of children.
Jordan Willamson of Mount Pleasant Road in Davenham, has been accused of downloading a total of 718 images between December 31, 2012 and May 1, 2021.
Williamson also had in possession 457 extreme pornographic images portraying various sex acts with animals.
He was appearing at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 31, where he faced a total of six charges.
Due to the seriousness of the offences, the matter has been sent to Chester Crown Court for sentencing.
Of the 718 images of children Williamson is accused of downloading, 326 were analysed by police as being category A - the most serious, while 233 were category B and 159 category C.
Williamson was bailed by magistrates and has to register with the police until he is sentenced at the higher court on Tuesday, June 28.
