A SPECIAL project encouraging a love of reading has seen books hidden across areas of Northwich for children to find during half term.

Almost 250 books have placed in different areas, and once children have found and read them, they can either keep them, or re-hide them for others to enjoy.

Karen Oldale explained: "I have arranged 'Look for a Book with Oldales Tales’.

"There are 245 books being hidden around Marbury, Comberbach, Anderton, Barnton and Winnington Village.

"The children have started to find them and are popping a post on the group to let us know who has sponsored the book, where it was found and the area they’re re-hiding it.

"We wanted to reach out to more families as it’s half term and a nice activity to do which costs nothing."

Some of the books which have been found have been taken as far Colwyn Bay, Wythenshaw and the Yorkshire Dales.

A note with each book reads: "Take me home and read me, then either keep me or re-hide me for someone else to find.

"When I've been found, please post a picture on our Facebook group, 'Look for a Book with Oldales Tales', telling everyone where you found me and who I've been sponsored by - details are just inside me.

"If you choose to re-hide me, please share a clue in the Facebook group so that others know there is another book to find."
