A WOMAN from Northwich has spent years writing her first book which aims to help people find spiritual ways of improving their own lives.

Sue Holmes, from Winnington, says writing ‘The Key To Life’ has been a long process after she first put pen to paper in 2014.

The 53-year-old said her own key to life was the fact she has suffered a little, which gives a better understand of who you are.

“When I say I’ve suffered, I don’t mean anything major, but enough to be able to understand what others can go through,” she said.

“This is because anything we go through in life is big to ourselves, even if it seems small in comparison to someone else's problems.

“I suffered with allergic rhinitis since I was a child, rheumatism, depression, suicidal thoughts, stubbornness, to name but a few.

“I've taken tablets for most of my life, and now I have naturally healed myself to a state where I take none.”

Sue has spent many years learning about everything to do with the link between religion, spirituality and science and is also a certified Reiki Master.

“The funny thing is, I’d never really read much for most of my life,” she added.

“The words would just blur on the page.

“But as I got older, I started to learn about mediumship and holistic healing.

“And then when I started to study Reiki, all of a sudden, I just started devouring book after book.

“I guess it just grounded me and I just went through them like wild-fire.”

It was taking part in many courses that Sue was eventually inspired to write a self-help book of her own.

“When I first started Reiki, people told me it was a load of rubbish.

“But I had experienced it, so I kept on going.

“It was only when people got to experience it for themselves that they realised how helpful it could be.

“I understood it that much, it got to a point where people told me it was a crime to keep all the knowledge I had to myself.

“Eventually, I thought to myself, maybe I could.

“The idea is it explains things in a simple way that everyone can understand.

“The key is to keep trying and to gently push yourself along as nobody knows better than yourself.”
