A FORMER Winsford mayor has shown a primary school his support after it suffered a spate of vandalism.
Over St John's Primary School had been subjected to vandalism in its reception garden and Cllr Nathan Pardoe came to visit the children to show his support.
He had a look around at the damage and talked to the children – even making time to answer questions about his role in the community.
Cllr Pardoe said: "It was wonderful to visit my old primary school, Over St John's, and meet teachers, support staff and school children.
“There's a genuine close-knit community feel in the school, and the care and pride of the staff was obvious.
"I visited after reading about the repeat incidents of vandalism by people breaking into the outside classroom.
“These actions have no place in Winsford or society, and I'd like to thank staff, parents and carers for their goodwill and dedication to putting the damage right.
"Thanks to my former year six teacher Mrs Snowdon, and Mrs Kelly, for showing me around, and to the reception children who asked me questions about what it was like to be mayor."
