A CHESHIRE beauty queen has been selected to represent her home county in a prestigious content in Blackpool.

Sophie Barker has made it to the final of ‘Miss Elegance of The World’ which will take place along the Golden Mile on July 24.

The newly turned 31-year-old, who is raising funds for Cancer Research UK as part of her campaign, said she cannot wait to represent Cheshire in the contest.

“I cannot wait for the final and to get on the catwalk,” she said.

“It’s so exciting.

“I have been modelling for the last four years.

“I hope to be a full-time fashion model one day as it’s my dream.”

When not strutting down catwalks, Sophie, who is originally from Northwich, works in the hospitality sector on a part-time basis, but she hopes her appearance in the final this summer might open the doors of opportunity.

“The winner of the pageant will receive the Miss Elegance of the World crown and sceptre.

“Not only that, but you can also win a paid trip to compete in Miss Global United States final in Florida where you represent your country and Miss Elegance of the World.”

“From my local hairdressers and beauty salon which, is based in Cheshire, to having appearances in Edinburgh then moving on to having professional pictures and various appearances abroad whilst on holiday in Turkey.

“I have lots more appearances lined up until July and looking to raise even more money, as I am also raising money for Cancer Research UK, which is a charity close to my heart and really worthy cause.

“I really want to win this pageant it would be one of the biggest achievements of my life.”
