TO celebrate its move to a new home, a family-run animal and outdoor supplies business has put on a ‘spring social’ for its customers – raising funds for animal charities in the process.

Sandiway Supplies – which was previously located in Sandiway, Northwich, for 22 years – relocated to Blakeden Lane in Winsford in December.

It stocks a range of animal feed, bedding, hay, straw and other outdoor supplies, catering to furry, fluffy and feathered friends alike.

The team’s love of animals has seen it raise more than £400 for charities both close to home and further afield with its recent event.

Around 100 new and existing customers attended and enjoyed the festivities – and the Sandiway Supplies team is keen to put on another event later this year.

A spokesperson for the business said: “We moved to Winsford in December and it’s been fantastic.

“On Sunday, April 24, we hosted our first Sandiway Supplies Spring Social, which comprised of a complimentary BBQ and drinks, live music by Tarporley musician Lee Gordon, and games such as 'Hammer-Shlagen' and 'Hook a Duck', with many suppliers in attendance offering samples and discounts.

“The idea was that because we hadn’t had a proper opening in December because it was so close to Christmas, we wanted to get together with our customers.

“The event was free to attend but was used as an opportunity to raise money for the local RSPCA branch which is currently in danger of closure (RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St. Helens) and also Ukraine Equestrian Relief.”

Dressage for Ukraine was an event taking place at Higher Farm near Middlewich, raising funds for Ukraine Equestrian Relief which is helping assist horses in Ukraine.

Overall, Dressage for Ukraine raised a total of £4,000.
