THERE is a whole host of events and activities to enjoy at Northwich’s Arley Hall and Gardens this month.

On Tuesday, May 10, join Lord Ashbrook and learn about the woodlands and their development at Arley.

This is then followed by a tour of the Arley gardens.

On Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 the hall itself will be open from 10am until 4pm (last entry 3.30pm).

There is no need to book, but people should note that entry is only available as an upgrade after paid garden entry.

Wednesday, May 18 will bring visitors a spring foraging workshop, organised by Forage Box Limited - next day will see a combined spring foraging and cooking workshop.

There will be a special sculpture exhibition in the gardens on Saturday, May 21 to Monday, August 29.

For this exhibition, White Cube will bring international contemporary art to the historic setting of Arley Hall.

The exhibition will locate more than twenty works by artists including Antony Gormley, Tracey Emin, Isamu Noguchi, Cerith Wyn Evans and Danh Vo on their lawns, in ponds and woodland groves, surmounting the brick walls, and on the beams of a Tudor barn.

Entry is as part of normal garden admission so there no need to book.

An artisan market will then appear on the grounds on Sunday, May 22.

Organised by eventsandmarkets, there will be more than 40 stands, featuring both makers and delicious food.

There will be street food, a bar, and the possibility to meet makers and artisans.

Fair opening hours are 10am to 4.30pm and admission is the normal garden entry.

There is no need to book and dogs are welcome to attend with you, provided they are on a lead.
