RESIDENTIAL trips are back on the cards for primary school pupils, helping them to develop their confidence and independence while having fun with their friends.
Year two children from Grange Community Nursery and Primary School in Winsford went to Delamere Residential Centre for their first overnight stay away with their classmates.
It has been a long-awaited experience for the children as the Covid-19 pandemic put all residential trips on hold.
But the trip was well worth the wait.
The children enjoyed the peaceful setting of the centre, which is situated in the heart of Delamere Forest.
As part of their action-packed stay, the children tried their hand at pond dipping, setting up hammocks in a jungle camp, and built a campfire.
Sara Albiston, head of school, said: "As a School of Opportunity, we pride ourselves on the enrichment package that we provide to our children.
“Residentials take place from year one to year six at Grange.
“These invaluable trips allow children to develop their self-esteem, confidence and independence.”
