MID Cheshire Scouts are inviting residents to have a go at fun, free activities this weekend in Northwich to mark 100 years of the group.
The event is on Saturday, April 23, from 10am to 4pm at Barons Quay, and celebrates the Scouts’ impressive anniversary.
"We want people to come along, take part and see all of the fun we have,” said Darren Gorst, district commissioner of Mid Cheshire Scouts – which includes Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, and the surrounding areas.
“There will be a climbing wall, tent pitching, soft archery, and a chance to play our human hungry hippos – we promise you’ll be giggling.
“Little ones can also have a go at Beaver and Cub Crafts. And it’s all free!”
Northwich shops and businesses are joining in the celebrations with a Geocaching Treasure Hunt around the town.
There will be an opportunity to help the Scouts who are raising funds for their trip to the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in 2023, as they will be having a cake sale.
There will also be a litter pick at the end of the day.
“We are always welcoming new members, from ages five-and-a-half through to 18, at our groups within Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich, and the surrounding areas,” continued Darren.
“And we’re also grateful for anyone who wants to volunteer to help with Scouts.
“There are many roles, from getting involved with the groups, through to supporting us running the district in a clerical capacity.”
