1874 Northwich will go into Easter Monday's home clash with table toppers Warrington Rylands on the back of a dour 0-0 draw at relegated Kendal Town.
A run of three consecutive wins ended for the side managed by Wayne Goodison and Paul Bowyer as the Cumbrians held on to seal their first point since a 1-0 success at Colne on New Year's Day.
The visitors came closest to taking all three points.
Jack Irlam actually got the ball in the net with a header in the second minute of added time but the linesman raised his flag for offside.
Kendal's woodwork was hit three times in the second half but the ball refused to go in.
1874 are 10th in the Northern Premier League West with two games remaining and at this stage could finish anywhere between eighth and 16th.
