A CHILD protection charity has spoken out about the ‘horrific webs of abuse’ spun by a Northwich paedophile after he assaulted a sleeping child and shared indecent photographs online.
The NSPCC was responding to the sentence of Craig Crowther, who will spend four years and four months in prison.
The 31-year-old, of Tilstone Close, Northwich, was handed his sentence at Chester Crown Court today, Thursday.
He used the internet to share indecent images and disclose his ‘unhealthy interest’ in young children.

The NSPCC says it will continue to fight to make sure the proposed Online Safety Bill helps prevent abusers from committing crimes such as this in the future.
An NSPCC spokesperson said: “Crowther’s terrible abuse of a sleeping child and his sharing of indecent images of children shows the ease at which offenders are using the internet to create these horrific webs of abuse.
“The NSPCC will continue to lobby the Government to ensure the proposed Online Safety Bill is robust, fit for purpose and can effectively keep children safer online, so it can prevent abusers like Crowther from committing these appalling crimes.”
