A YOUTH has been arrested after he was spotted on CCTV causing damage to flower beds outside McDonald's.

The 13-year-old was arrested by officers at around 8.40pm on Tuesday, April 12.

He had been spotted by Cheshire West and Chester Council CCTV operators pulling out the flowers and throwing them on to the roof of the popular fast-food chain.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police confirmed the teen had since been released under further investigation.

They added: "After initially making off from officers they were directed to his new location by the CCTV operator and he was subsequently detained and taken to the custody suite.

"We are aware of the anti-social behaviour being caused by a small minority of juveniles in the town centre and the impact that this has on local businesses and visitors to the town.

"We will take robust action against those identified as being responsible for committing offences and causing anti-social behaviour and despite those involved being children they can still be arrested."
