A LITTLE girl with a big heart has had 10 inches cut off her long locks to be made into a wig for children who have lost their own hair through illness.

Jasmine Mirza from Winnington is only five years old, but she is always on the look-out to help others.

She recently had 10 inches of her hair cut which she will donate to The Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes wigs for those in need.

“Jasmine is a very kind and thoughtful little girl and has always shown an interest in helping others, big or small,” proud mum Bhavini said.

“She is always asking, ‘mummy how can I/we help?'

“She says, ‘when I grow up, I want to be able to help make people better and be a dressmaker like my mummy’.”

Bhavini had heard about The Little Princess Trust and after explaining it to Jasmine, the youngster wanted to help.

“In the run up to getting her hair cut, we would talk about it and by having a large amount chopped off, she could donate it to be made into a wig for other children or adults who weren’t able to have any hair of their own due to cancer and other conditions,” Bhavini explained.

“I showed her pictures and articles for her to better understand where her hair could go.

“This charity makes and provides these wigs free of charge and relies on donations to help them create such life-changing wigs, restoring confidence and identity.

“So, we also set up a Just Giving page where people could donate.”

Mobile hairdresser Hair By Della did the chop and Jasmine now loves her new hairstyle.

“Jasmine was a superstar,” Bhavini said.

“I know how much she loved her long hair, so this was huge for her.

“She has such a kind heart, and it makes me so proud that already at age five she has these qualities.”

Jasmine has so far raised more than £350 for The Little Princess Trust, alongside her physical hair donation.
