A MAIN route has been closed in both directions due to a serious crash this morning, Thursday.
Emergency services are present on the A559 Northwich Road in Antrobus following the road traffic collision.
The incident occurred at around 8.45am, with the route between Warrington and Northwich closed by the Birch and Bottle Inn.
Two fire engines from Stockton Heath and Lymm fire stations are dealing with the incident, with Cheshire Police officers also in attendance.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the crash involves one vehicle, with the occupant medically trapped inside.
Firefighters have stabilised the vehicle and are administering care to the casualty.
Queueing traffic is building as a result of the accident, with the closure also affecting traffic between Lostock Gralam and Stretton.
