A MAN who denied assault and causing criminal damage by breaking a pair of reading glasses in Northwich has been found guilty of both offences.
Archibald McKee, 63, of Coronation Grove in Barnton, appeared in Chester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 29.
He was charged with assault and damaging reading glasses to the value of £100 ‘without lawful excuse' and ‘intending to destroy or damage such property, or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged’.
Both offences took place on June 19, 2021.
After originally denying the offences, McKee was found guilty after a trial.
He will appear be appear back at Chester Magistrates' Court on April 27 to be sentenced.
