AFTER fuel prices hit record highs during March, the Chancellor delivered a spring statement with the aim of helping you fill your tank for less.
On Wednesday, March 23, Rishi Sunak cut fuel duty by 5p per litre for the next 12 months in a bid to help out drivers.
But one week on, has the cut in duty had the desired effect at the pumps?
We have taken a look at the price of unleaded and diesel around the area to see what has changed in the last seven days.
One thing is clear, after nosing above 160p litre - and more than 170p per litre for diesel - the costs for both have started to come down, but are still significantly higher than what they were 12 months ago.
Here are the cheapest five places to fill up in mid-Cheshire, which reveal that once again, supermarkets are leading the way:
UNLEADED
Tesco Northwich - 154.9p per litre
Sainsburys Northwich - 155.9p per litre
Asda Barons Quay - 158.7p per litre
Morrisons Winsford - 160.9p per litre
Texaco King Street, Northwich - 161.9p per litre
Once again, those living in Knutsford are paying even more than their mid-Cheshire neighbours with the cheapest prices being the Chester Road Esso at 167.9p per litre.
DIESEL
