AFTER overcoming various lockdowns and restrictions, a Northwich technology business has celebrated its third birthday.

Mark Ralph, Richard Delooze and Derek Shannon founded Wincham-based MRD Technologies after taking the leap from their corporate roles to create a business that gave SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) and charities in the region a ‘better quality of service’.

Despite 18 months of various lockdowns and restrictions, MRD have grown their business and now count Cortech, Specsavers and charity DSN as their clients, providing them with telephony and IT solutions and support.

The team gathered for pizzas and pop at their offices at Swan House, Wincham.

Director Derek, 36, who was added into the prestigious 42 Under 42 last year, said he and the team were ‘truly honoured’ to have reached their third birthday.

“Despite the hardship so many faced during the pandemic, we are proud to say we helped so many businesses to diversify into hybrid working during the national lockdowns and restrictions,” said Derek.

“We offer a holistic approach to telephony and IT and it has proven to be a really successful mixture - offering great products from the best suppliers in the business matched with our commitment to service.

“Over the past year we have seen our satisfaction scores soar and we have welcomed six new team members to help with the demand for the services we offer - we are delighted with how business has progressed.”

Veteran turned computer technician Richard, who started the business with Derek and Mark after working with Mark previously for 15 years, added: “We are so proud of what we have achieved despite a pandemic - but that is testament to our growing team and the wonderful clients we are lucky to call ours.”

Co-founder Mark said one of the greatest moments was the appointment of administrator Samantha Hammond as part of the Government's Kick Start programme which encourages young people into work, as well as a number of highly experienced and skilled technicians and business development managers.

Mark added: “The past three years have surpassed all of our expectations - so here’s to the next three and beyond!”
