THREE kind-hearted youngsters are helping to make a difference in their communities after joining a home care team.

Victoria Munday, Harvey Owens and Ellis Rogers have taken on care professional roles at Home Instead Northwich and Knutsford to help support older people in need of care but who want to stay in their own home.

The trio spoke about their 'rewarding' work as the company appealed for others interested in care to get in touch about its team.

Victoria, from Hartford, has been part of the team since October, working part-time while studying for a level three extended diploma in health and social care.

The 18-yea-old, who has been a carer for her grandad with Alzheimer's and has experience working in a care home, said: "I was only 16 when I started working in care.

"It was a very challenging experience, but I found it the most rewarding job.

"I experienced situations that I wouldn't have thought somebody my age would deal with, but this helped me grow as an individual as well as a professional."

Studying public services at college, Harvey, from Winsford, joined the team in February.

The 18-year-old, who has care experience from supporting an older family member, has thoroughly enjoyed his first month of working for Home Instead.

He says: "It's a really rewarding job, as I know that when I get home at the end of the day, I have helped to make a difference to someone’s day."

With no prior care experience, Ellis, from Knutsford, joined the caring team in February.

Ellis, aged 18, has a desire to make a difference to the lives of people living in his local community – something he is achieving through his current role.
