FIREFIGHTERS are urging motorists to take care when driving after more than 300 people have been injured in collisions around Northwich since 2018.

In the past three years, there were 308 casualties on the roads around the town.

Of those injured in crashes, 185 involved males with of quarter of those being young men aged between 20 and 29.

Now firefighters at Northwich Fire Station are urging drivers to take care and 'not become part of these statistics in future years'.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "In the past three years in the Northwich area there have been 308 people injured involving road traffic collisions.

"Sixty per cent of these were males and a quarter of those between the age of 20 to 29.

"The red routes in the area are the A556 and the A49. Please don’t be part of this statistic in the coming years."
