HEALTH leaders in Cheshire will be observing a minute's silence to mark the sacrifices made by the county's residents during the Covid pandemic.
A second National Day of Reflection is taking place on March 23, two years on from when the country was placed into lockdown for the first time.
NHS Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group will be taking part in the minute's silences to show support and solidarity with those affected by Covid.
Clare Watson, accountable officer of the NHS CCG, said: “In the last two years the people of Cheshire have made extraordinary sacrifices to help protect themselves and each other, while thousands of health and care workers have remained right on the frontline throughout the pandemic.
“Many of those same people have also supported Cheshire’s Covid-19 vaccination programme, which has now delivered more than 1.6 million vaccinations at GP practices, pharmacies, hospital hubs, mass vaccination centres, community centres, church halls and schools.
“Alongside health and care staff, I’d also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to our amazing volunteers who continue to give up their free time to play their part in Cheshire’s Covid-19 vaccination programme. Thank you.”
