BABY and child swim school, Puddle Ducks, is celebrating its wonderful team of teachers who inspire children to love the water every day.

One thing all the teachers have is a passion for the water, and want to teach children to develop this love too through child-led lessons which develop their skills whilst having fun.

Sam Elliot trained as a swimming teacher during her second maternity leave, making a huge career change in a quest for more flexibility in her working life.

She joined Puddle Ducks when they opened their pool in Barons Quay and has never looked back.

She teaches children aged 4-10 in her swim academy lessons at the Barons Quay pool.

Sam previously worked in research as an Associate Director, delivering social research projects on behalf of government departments and as a consultant for a large marketing and communications company. But, always having been a sporty person, competing in swimming and triathlons for the past 10 years, she decided a career in the leisure sector was well suited.

Sam said: "I’m so pleased I decided to become a swimming teacher, it is the most amazing job.

"The team at Puddle Ducks are also incredibly supportive and friendly which has made the experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend the job to anyone who loves kids and swimming.

"The job is so rewarding, and the hours are perfect to fit around my family life."

"Her experience demonstrates that anyone can jump into teaching, as training is readily available and skills from all career backgrounds are easily transferable.
