KNUTSFORD Music Festival is coming back with a bang this year with an exciting line-up of performers.

The three-day festival runs from Friday, June 10, to Sunday, June 12, and features a variety of events.

Tickets go on sale next week.

Festival organisers at Knutsford Town Council have teamed up with BBC broadcaster Mark Radcliffe to bring a line up of incredible folk music.

Friday night will see critically acclaimed duo Zervas and Pepper top the bill at the Little Theatre joined by local favourites Fine Lines who will support singer-songwriter and producer Tim Prottey-Jones.

Folk singer Kate Rusby will headline on Saturday night at St John’s Church with support from Catherine and Ciara McGoldrick.

Lively eight-piece Hope & Social headline Sunday's performers with support from local singer-songwriter Chris Tavener, who combines jangly-guitar rock and a biting sense of humour.

Also returning in 2022 is Friday Night Blues in the beautiful Brook Street Chapel Hall.

Headliner Mat Walklate returns following a sell out performance in 2018.

This year is is joined by duo partner Alex Haynes, with support from local folk stomping duo Two Hats Blues Band.

Everyone can enjoy outdoor fun on Saturday, June 11, as the festival brings music back to the Moor.

The free event, which runs from 12noon until 4pm, features live acoustic music from various local performers.

African drumming for all ages and a children's music themed craft workshop are among the special activities.

Refreshments will be provided by local food and drink vendors.

A Brief History of Music will be held on the Sunday.

This fun 90-minute tour of western musical history, starting in the middle ages, which combines the vigour of the medieval period, the musical intricacy of the Renaissance, the grandeur of the Baroque and the pomp and bombast of Victoriana.
