POLICE are appealing for information after a spate of four burglaries at business premises across Northwich.

A charity money box was raided and cash stolen as intruders left a trail of destruction inside the town centre shops.

Detectives are now looking for witnesses and video footage to try and catch the culprits.

Two local men have been arrested in connection with the incidents and are assisting police with their enquiries.

The first incident occurred between 6.40am and 7.40am on Saturday, February 19, when an unknown person broke into After Five Chinese takeaway in Station Road and stole a quantity of cash.

The UK Charity Store on Chester Way was the second target between 11.15pm on Sunday, February 20 and 12.05am on Monday, February 21.

Cash was stolen from the office.

Cink hair and beauty salon and Feathers Academy, a clairvoyants, in Witton Street were both broken into between 6pm on Monday, February 22 and 8am on Tuesday, February 22.

PC Matthew Uren, from Northwich Beat Team, said: “I understand the concern these incidents are likely to cause to local residents and businesses owners and I would like to reassure people we are doing everything we can to establish what has taken place.

“Two local men, both aged 45, have already been arrested in connection the incidents and they are currently assisting us with our enquiries.

“As part of our ongoing investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of time of the incidents and believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.

“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid our investigation.

“I urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact the team here at Northwich.”
