POLICE are appealing for information after a collision in Wincham left a teenage boy with serious injuries.

At 4.50pm on Saturday, January 8, officers were called to reports of a collision involving a Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian on Hall Lane between Wincham Hall and Green Lane.

The pedestrian, a teenage boy, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Alder Hey Hospital.

The boy has since been released from hospital and continues to recover at home.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers have now released a CCTV image of a car that could assist in the investigation.

Police are also keen to speak to the driver of the vehicle shown in the CCTV image, who they believe may have witnessed the collision.

The vehicle was travelling from the general direction of Lostock Gralam towards Wincham.

Police constable Nick Anderton, of the Serious and Complex Investigation Unit, said: “I fully appreciate that the image is slightly blurred but hope it will help jog someone’s memory.

“I would like to stress that we believe the driver of this vehicle could be a witness to the collision.

“As well as appealing to the driver, I am also keen to hear from anyone who drove past a group of teenagers near to Wincham Hall.

“The same goes to anyone who may have dashcam footage and have not yet come forward as it may aid our investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to report it to Cheshire Police via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML 1173324 or call 101.
