THE school at which Imogen Tothill attended has issued a statement following the sad discovery of her body.

The Holmes Chapel Comprehensive & Sixth Form student, who was 17, had been reported missing on Tuesday.

Police yesterday found Imogen's body in a wooded area near Ravenscroft. Her death is not thought to be suspicious and her family are being supported by specialist officers.

A school spokesperson has now paid tribute to 'much-loved and respected' Imogen and invited people to leave floral tributes in her memory outside the main school reception.

The statement said: "This is obviously the most tragic news. Imogen was a much-loved and respected member of our school community and her loss will be felt by so many students and teachers.

"Our most heartfelt sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with Imogen’s family and friends. We will offer whatever help and support possible.

"Anyone who wishes to leave floral tributes in memory of Imogen are welcome to do so outside of the main school reception."

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "Imogen's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

"Her death is not believed to be suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.

"Our thoughts are with Imogen’s family at this difficult time."
