TALENTED musicians were overwhelmed with support at a unique showcase event.
Local bands performed at The Hive in Winsford after this new venue was chosen to join major clubs across the UK for Independent Venue Week.
Indie bands from Winsford, Northwich and Knutsford joined musicians from across the country to perform.
Chris Carr, general manager of The Hive, said: "It was a huge success. We had more than 200 people turn up to the Saturday show.
"Talking to members of the audience afterwards, they were so pleased with the event.
"People were just so happy to be able to go out again and watch live music and there was such a great atmosphere."
Golty opened the event with an intimate acoustic show in the cafe bar to get the crowd warmed up.
First on the bill was The Gus Glynn Band, an eclectic rock 'n' roots three piece from Northwich.
Chris said: "Great songs with a bluesy drive to them.
"Great reception for the boys who will be back later in the year as the main support to Doctor and The Medics."
Local band Bingo Harry followed and won the crowd over with psychedelic keyboard sounds, great melodies and guitar riffs.
"Northwich youngsters Sonum played for us after, great heavy rock songs, grungy and dirty," said Chris.
"These boys have a bright future, finishing their set with their own rendition of The Subways Rock & Roll Queen which had the crowd singing along."
The Lilacs, embarking on a UK tour next month, were the special guests.
Chris said: "They ploughed through their set of catchy tunes and had the crowd in the palm of his hand. They ended the set with their hit single Vicarage Road."
New Winsford band Current Affairs impressed the audience with great songs.
Hangman's Howl, from Knutsford, performed as a full band for the first time live.
Chris said: "They blew everyone away, stunning harmonies, Great guitar sounds and always please the crowd. Ryan and Theo are really on it when it comes to harmonies."
Headliner The Seabirds, from Winsford, playing to a packed room.
"They didn't disappoint," said Chris. "Great stage presence, top quality songs and a perfect way to finish the night."
The tempo changed on Sunday afternoon for an acoustic candelight show featuring guest performers Amy Antrobus and Christie Bratherton.
"There was a beautiful vibe in the room and such a connection between the musicians and audience," said Chris.
Gifted songwriter and musician George Borowski performed with his band on Thursday.
Hive trustee Damon Horrill said: "We were absolutely made up, all the bands and artists were all brilliant and the support shown by our community for their performances and the event as a whole was tremendous.
"After all the difficulties faced and measures imposed it was good to be back and moving forwards.
"Lots now to look forward to."
