THOUSANDS of saplings have been stolen from a nursery in Northwich.
An investigation is ongoing after Lobslack Nursery reported the burglary, which is thought to have taken place earlier in the week.
Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team posted on social media to urge anyone with information to come forward.
A statement reads: "Approximately 15,000 saplings have been stolen some point from Jan 2-4.
"An investigation is ongoing along with enquiries in to CCTV.
"If you have seen anything suspicious or have any information that could be linked please contact us on 101 quoting IML 1170360."
The nursery, managed by Forestry England, hosts the largest glass house dedicated to growing forest trees in the UK.
Security has been tightened and patrols will be in the area following the incident.
