THE Commonwealth War Graves Commission has issued an appeal to trace the relatives of two men buried in a Northwich cemetery.

Both Home Guard volunteer Robert Leather and Private T Simpson, of the Cheshire Regiment, are buried at St Mary's Church in Weaverham.

Sadly, the memorial marking on their graves no longer provides adequate commemoration and the Commission is looking to produce headstones to properly mark them.

Robert Leather died on Boxing Day in 1941, while Pt Simpson, service number 30199, died on July 19, 1918.

A Commonwealth War Graves Commission spokesman said: "We wish to make contact with any family members of the casualties concerned.

"If you are related to one of the above casualties and can provide us with the documentation, please contact our Enquiries Team via the website"
