A NORTHWICH-based technology firm has recently pledged to be the first business to take part in a charity campaign.

Leading sensory loss charity, DSN, which has bases across Cheshire, including Northwich, created the campaign in a bid to raise funds for the organisation which has been supporting people with hearing and/or sight loss for more than 45 years.

MRD Technologies in Wincham was the first business to pledge on day one of the 12-day fundraiser.

Gill Reeder, operations executive at DSN said: "We are so grateful to MRD Technologies for their continued support of the charity.

"It really does make a huge difference to help us support projects for our service users and help them lead independent, fulfilling lives.

"As Christmas is just around the corner, we are hoping to raise £100 a day for 12 days in order to create some meaningful activities for our clients to make the best of what will be a very different festive period."

Director at MRD Technologies, Derek Shannon, pledged £200 to get the fundraiser started.

He said: "We've worked alongside DSN for some years now and have always been in awe of the brilliant work they do.

"This year we know how tough it has been to raise funds in the wake of the pandemic and we are delighted to be able to show them our support this festive season."
