Emergency repairs on the M6 are complete and the motorway has fully reopened after a HGV crashed through a barrier.
Parts of the northbound carriageway were shut for more than eight hours between junction 18 and junction 19 after the collision between the HGV and a car.
Police and National Highways crews attended shortly before 2.30pm yesterday where the HGV had ended up on a grass verge after going through the nearside barrier.
Officers believe no serious injuries were sustained in the collision.
At the height of the incident there were more than seven miles of congestion adding around two hours to normal journey times.
At around 5.30pm lanes began openeing past the incident while the vehicles were recovered and repairs were underway.
Work continued into the evening before all lanes were fully reopened at around 11pm.
