POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a three vehicle crash left a motorcyclist dead on the A556 in Tabley.

The tragic incident happened at around 1.50pm on Saturday, November 20 at The Rinks on Chester Road, which resulted in the road being closed for several hours.

The collision involved two cars - a grey Volkswagen and a silver Mondeo - as well as a motorbike, which was being ridden by Anthony Jones, from Stockport.

Officers, along with land and air ambulance attended the scene, and the 57-year-old was taken to Manchester Royal Hospital with serious injuries.

However, Mr Jones, passed away the following day. His family have been informed and are being support by specialist officers.

Sergeant Simon Degg, from Cheshire Constabulary’s Serious and Complex Investigation Unit, said: “We are following numerous enquiries lines of enquiry as part of the investigation.

“I am appealing for witnesses who saw a Ford Mondeo in the Tabley area shortly before the collision occurred to come forward.

“If you were in the area at the time and have not yet spoken to an officer I would encourage you to get in contact.

“Any information you have – no matter how small could really assist with our investigation.”
