A MAN was taken to hospital after being assaulted in Winsford town centre.
Police were called to reports that a 58-year-old man was assaulted outside Aldi supermarket on Dean Drive at 3.30pm on Sunday.
Officers were told that the victim had been attacked by a 'known man'.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "The caller reported that at around 3.30pm the victim, a 58-year-old man, had been assaulted by a known man.

"The victim was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure and enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing."
