A CELEBRITY doctor is switching on Christmas lights as a festive artisan market, Santa and live reindeer stage launch a day of family fun.

TV Dr Rangan Chatterjee has been invited to light up his home town, Wilmslow on Saturday, November 20.

The GP is regarded as one of the most influential medical doctors in the UK and is passionate about changing the way medicine is practised in the future.

The much acclaimed author hosts the most listened to health podcast in the UK and Europe and each of his four books have been Sunday Times Bestsellers in this country and international bestsellers across the world.

Dr Chatterjee hosts his own wellness show on BBC Radio 2, presents the BBC 1 series Doctor in the House and is the resident GP on BBC Breakfast.

The GP, who has more than 20 years experience, believes in an holistic approach to medicine, treating the whole person to find the root causes of diseases rather than treating symptoms.

The 44-year-old says the majority of his patients don’t need a pill, they need a lifestyle prescription.

His goal is to change the way we look at illness.

Cllr Martin Watkins, chairman of Wilmslow Town Council, said: “With no 2020 event possible, Wilmslow’s Christmas lights switch-on event is returning this year with a bang.

"We are thrilled with the line up of local talent and exciting street entertainment, culminating in the illumination of our new Christmas lights by well-renowned and much celebrated resident Dr Rangan Chatterjee.

"We hope the whole community has a fantastic day and enjoys getting into the festive spirit.”
