TICKETS for one of the town's long list of events to celebrate Christmas are on sale, with warning's they are likely to sell out fast.

Zoom star Jackie Weaver might be flicking the switch to light up Northwich and officially start the festive season, but there are so many other things going on.

Apple Market Place will house a huge marquee for a couple of weeks from November 27, which will be named The Reindeer Lounge.

The first event to feature under the canopy will be an amazing family fun ice rink, which proved a popular draw when it was last in the town two years ago.

Skating sessions will take place on the synthetic ice across three days and are limited to just 30 minutes slots, which will need to be booked in advance.

The Reindeer Lounge, an initiative organised jointly by Northwich Town Council and Northwich BID, provides completely weather-proof conditions.

Adam Gerrard, project manager at Northwich BID, said: "The Reindeer Lounge is a 380 square meter pop up venue that will be hosting a variety of events, with clear PVC windows all the way around, festoon lighting and music whilst you skate, so don’t miss out.

"This year’s rink provides a realistic alternative to real ice, the Ice Rink’s manufacturer states: “In a world where energy efficiency and global warming have become a real concern our product is energy conscious and environmentally friendly.

"With Super-Glide you get a true real alternative to wet ice but with none of the damage to the atmosphere associated with global warming."

Skates are provided at the rink, but you do need to book tickets for one of the 30 minute sessions on November 27, 28 and 29.
