"I CAN'T abide my players not working and they're not doing that at the minute."
Words used by Northwich Victoria manager Steve Wilkes after his side lost 2-0 at form team Burscough in the North West Counties League Premier Division on Tuesday night.
Burscough, on a run of 11 wins in 13 games, went ahead through Declan Daniels (35mins) and sealed their success through James Salkeld (87). Northwich substitute Chris Mather was sent off midway through the second half.
Wilkes changed the look of the team, moving Matty Birchall up front with Carl Grimshaw, but he was disappointed that his men went away from the plan of keeping the ball down on a good playing surface after the opening 15 minutes.
Vics, who drew 1-1 at Squires Gate on Saturday and are currently 11th on the ladder, host Ashton Athletic on Saturday and head to Barnoldswick Town next Wednesday.
