WINNINGTON Park Hockey Club are responding to interest in adults looking to return to, or start, the sport.

A helping had is on its way for those who are rusty or do not feel they yet have the skills or fitness for senior hockey.

The club are running a series of six sessions on Tuesdays from 8pm to 9pm at The Grange School, Bradburns Lane, on November 2 (tomorrow), 16, 23, 30 and December 7 and 14.

They will be led by Tony Taig, who has represented England at over 60s level, and will include age-appropriate warm-ups and an overview of all the basic skills of hockey.

Each session will end with a friendly game to apply the skills practiced.

The cost is £30 for the six sessions, which are suitable for any age but are aimed at adults who have either played hockey in the past but feel a bit too rusty to be confident joining in senior hockey, or who have little or no experience at all of playing but would like to have a go.
